Program

Our program is planned by trained staff and takes into account the children’s emotional, physical and educational development. Children learn through play, and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities are planned as well as periods of supervised free play.

The staff at Wellington Preschool use the Victorian EYLF (Early Years Learning Frameworks) to base their learning environments and curriculum. The program is aimed at focusing the child’s independence and self-reliance while learning to co-operate and share with other children.

A wide variety of activities are provided throughout the year to develop the children’s cognitive and physical skills as well as coordination at a level suitable to the stage of development.

The current program in operation will be displayed on the notice boards at the entrance of each kinder room.

Inclusive Program

The program will care and educate young children to be bilingual speakers and to function in and contribute to a multicultural society. The program will support children’s identification with the cultural and linguistic heritage of their family. The program will support for all children the development of identification with the cultural and linguistic heritage of Australia.

The whole environment: program content, materials and communication, will reflect the valuing of multicultural, multilingual perspective. All languages will be treated with equal respect. The program will aim to provide the best bilingual learning environment.

Stay and Play

Stay and Play provides parents with an opportunity to spend some time with their child and see how they are developing within the preschool environment whilst helping with daily preschool activities. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, uncles, aunts and just about anybody who is willing to be part of Wellington Preschool can participate with Stay and Play!  Staff will post rosters at the beginning of each term (except for Term 1) for family members to sign up.  A current Working With Children Check will need to be provided in order to participate in Stay and Play.
